Traditional Inca Trail
If you like to hike, then we have a great alternative to offer with our inca trail, along the way you will be able to see different complex ecosystems ranging from the high puna (mountain grasslands) to the high forests that shelter impressive archaeological remains, this experience gives us the feeling of discovering real isolated areas. The expedition ends in Machu Picchu.
This trail to Machu Picchu is one of the best hikes in the world because of the exquisite beauty of its natural surroundings. The Inca paths takes us through different ecosystems from high Andean plains to the cloud forest allowing us to explore mysterious archaeological sites, half covered with jungle overgrowth which looks as if we were discovering them for the first time. The trek finishes with the inspiring sight of the sunrise at the wonderful Machu Picchu.
DAY 1: CUSCO – HUAYLLABAMBA
We’ll pick you up around 7 am to head towards the km 82, after crossing the entrance we will start the trail, walking for 3 hr. aprox. until arriving at the archaeological complex Llactapata. After a visit we will have lunch, and later we will hike for 30 min. aprox. to reach Huayllabamba, an isolated andean community. In the afternoon we will get ready for camping. Around 7 pm. we will have dinner.

DAY 2: HUAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSCA – PACAYMAYO
Early in the morning we will have breakfast, after that we will get ready to continue along the trip, hiking up for 4 hrs. aprox. to the highest point, (Warmiwañusca 4200 mt), from here we will observe a variety of ecosystems ranging from dry puna (mountain grasslands) to the high jungle. After lunch, around 2 pm, we will descend into the valley Pacaymayo , this journey lasts around 3 hr, we will go over wooden bridges, through tunnels and rocky steps. The camp will be near the river.

DAY 3: PACAYMAYO – PUYAPATAMARKA – WIÑAYHUAYNA
On this third of the tour, early in the morning we will have our breakfast and later we will descend for 45 min. aprox., exploring the archaeological complex Runkurakay and the Inca citadel Sayacmarca. Later we head towards Puya Patamarka where we will have lunch. After a break we will walk for 2 hrs. until arriving at the archaeological site Wiñay Huayna. If booked minimum 6 months before we will have a chance to set up our camp there, and dinner will be served around 7 pm.

DAY 4: WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
We get ready around 5 am, after breakfast we will hike for 1 hr. going up through the high jungle to Inti Punku known as the gate of the sun, this is the alternative access to Machu Picchu, in the area we will have impressive views of the entire archaeological complex. After the arrival at Machu Picchu, our guide will show us the area for 2 hr., visiting the main sites. After the tour the group will have some free time to explore, keeping in mind the departure of your train. Late in the afternoon you need to walk down to Aguas Calientes. Where we will all meet at the train station 30 min. before departure, the trainride takes about 1.45 hrs. until reaching Ollantaytambo where our private bus will take the group back to Cusco. Our journey ends on the plaza de armas.
